Innovation Update: Introducing Our Newest Hand Foaming Hand Soap Pump

At Blueland, innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. In fact, some of our most meaningful product improvements started with something as simple as listening.

So when we heard feedback from customers about their experience with our foaming hand soap pumps, we took that feedback seriously.

While many customers loved the convenience of our refillable system, others shared that they’d like even more reliable, long-term performance.

Rather than making a quick adjustment, our product team spent several months reviewing customer feedback, evaluating potential solutions, and rigorously testing new designs. Our goal was simple: make a great refillable experience even better.

Taking a Closer Look

Even before exploring possible improvements, we knew we wanted a solution that could stand up to years of daily use.

So we started by evaluating multiple pump designs and manufacturing partners. After extensive research and testing, we partnered with a highly established supplier that manufactures pumps for global brands every day.

It turned out to be one of the most important decisions we made. Their expertise, manufacturing consistency, and quality standards gave us the confidence that we could deliver the durable and reliable experience our customers wanted.

The Improvements Behind the New Foaming Hand Soap Pump

Once we selected a new supplier, we worked together to identify opportunities to further optimize performance. The result? An updated design with several specific refinements, including: 

A Better Fit Between Pump and Bottle

One area we focused on was optimizing the fit between the pump components and the bottle. While it may not be immediately visible from the outside, we optimized the fit between the pump components and the bottle which plays an important role in how the pump functions during everyday use.

Enhanced Filter Design

We also updated the pump’s internal filter design with a slightly larger mesh opening that helps improve flow through the system while maintaining the foaming experience customers expect: smooth operation over repeated use. 

Built for Long-Term Use

Because Blueland products are designed to be refilled and reused, durability is especially important. To ensure long-term durability, we put the new design through our internal 10,000 pumps test—a significantly higher benchmark than what’s commonly used for our disposable competitors.
